you might not believe this, and its a really dorky thing to point out, but when you said you went to sir francis drakes ship i was like omg!!!! I'm actually a direct decendent of him. in fact my grandmas maiden name is drake, and all of my great uncles have that last name too.
Honestly none at all! I had expected someone to ask about my curl but literally nothing. I think people just assumed it to be a hair accessory. The only comment was someone saying to ~KiroKitsune as Prussia was "Cor, he's gone grey early" and that was literally it out of the whole entire day! I think the fact we were in normal clothes helped matters, and having hats on top of wigs makes them look a little more realistic I guess, haha.
Wow! I've never heard of Hatifield house before but it looks gooooorgeous! The photos will be beautiful I'm sure!
Totally give it a go if you can! (My friends and I go to places all the time in cosplay, generally as long as you pay and state the photos aren't for profit they're usually fine with letting you go places in costume - inside the house maybe not so much - but you never know unless you go and ask!) Good luck! I hope the pictures come out good!
It is a beautiful place. As its so near I've been many times in my life.
I wish I had friends I could do that with xD; My friend will be visiting from America so we are trying to find as many places to get photos that we can before she has to go back home. Sadly, she, too, has no friends who are into anime (or hetalia) so back home she can't go to conventions either. We are using this as our chance Do you think if I asked them before hand, there may be a chance they would allow my military outfit? Or do you think its safger to just go in a t-shirt and jeans...
Hm, well, as I said, inside they may be a bit iffy, but outside, generally they have no excuse to stop you even in military outfit. (Myself and ~nocturnal-blossom's latest shoot - the one of her in her 1860 Hungary dress was something we just turned up with her in, flashed our National Trust membership cards and said it was photos for non-profit, and they didn't mind at all). I would say just wing it. Turn up in military gear and see what happens. Seriously, if they ask, tell them straight that you just want some photos of the location and you in your outfits, for fun. There's not much else they can do
